Building off the recently completed research about the Inclusive History of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary National Historical Park, the CUES team developed an initial feasibility exploration for a conceptual vision for an accessible outdoor educational exhibit. The space is intended to be educational and recreational to engage the public in a meaningful manner. The process included a kickoff meeting with municipal officials and representatives of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route in New Jersey, followed by a review of the existing open space and historical sites of Westfield, NJ.
The delivered report seeks to serve as a jumping-off point for the township of Westfield to construct an enduring, accessible, outdoor space that combines recreation, arts, and history to tell the story of the well-documented research. The ultimate goal is for the Westfield community and the broader public to engage with the local historical stories and facts of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary route and the broader Revolutionary War.
