Perth Amboy Healthy Community: Enhancing Bike and Pedestrian Access to Parks (2018)

In the 2016 New Jersey Healthy Communities Network Resource Inventory Report, the Raritan Bay Medical Center identified obesity, diabetes, heart and cardiovascular diseases as among the top five health issues facing residents of Perth Amboy, NJ. In an effort to promote more healthy physical activity among the local community, the City of Perth Amboy and the Raritan Bay Area YMCA have partnered with CUES to identify specific action items that would improve bicycle and pedestrian access to existing parks, as well as to identify potential new open space opportunities along "connector" routes to the parks.
